Nantucket Lightship Baskets originated over 150 years ago. They were first created by the crewmen of lightship vessels as a way to pass time at sea. She has also been named “Best in Show” and won first place for her Nantucket tote. Elegant Weddings Magazine also quoted her in their summer issue about the use of Nantucket Baskets in weddings. Lisa Bessette is a native Cape Codder who grew up in Woods Hole in the shadow of Nobska Lighthouse. She and her husband reside in the beautiful town of Sandwich with their daughter, twin sons and two dogs. The Bessettes are now teaching basket making classes in their home with over 40 students per week.
