Words of Art began in 1998 as a desire by owner Donna Stanfield to find a way to create beautiful, decorative hand painted Scriptures and encouraging words on the walls of her home. Donna is a poet and writer, but not an artist, so hand painting them herself was out of the question. After calling several artists to obtain quotes, she found the cost beyond her budget; she decided to try her hand at stenciling. The lettering stencils were difficult to work with, the task of spacing, holding them in place, getting the line straight etc. was more work than she wanted to do. I would watch TV designer shows and would see rooms that would have beautiful words painted on the walls which really set the mood and style of the room. I wanted a peaceful mood in my family room, some fun and decorative words in my French Cafe kitchen, Surfer Girl type font in my daughters room, and romantic words and lettering in my bedroom. I needed to find a way for an untalented painter, like myself to be able to get that look and keep with in my budget. The solution was found after several attempts trying different products. Words of Art is an affordable way to get the designer look in your home using a three part self-adhesive vinyl stencil that is applied to the wall, painted, then removed from the wall leaving beautiful lettering behind. The designs are custom ordered so you choose your words, choose the font (lettering style), choose the size and we will cut it for you in any language. One of the most important parts to the look Donna was after was to have the lettering as beautiful as the words themselves. I wanted an artistic look to go along with the words for any type of decor. I have over 100 choice fonts for every room of your home. My favorites though are very unique, I purchased a series of fonts that were created from the works and penmanship of Master Artists such as Michelangelo, da Vinci, Monet, Cezanne, Van Gogh and others. You can have a Scripture, quote or saying on your wall and it will look as if Cezanne or Michelangelo hand painted it for you.
