A fascination with color,texture and design led me to work with fabric at an early age. Designing and constructing my own clothing as a teenager and later working in the Los Angeles garment district paved the way to opening my own clothing shop in Mt. Vernon, Maine in the early 70s. Along with raising two children, the next 20 years were spent designing clothing, perfecting technical skills and building a clientele. During this time I also began to integrate my artistic visions into the medium of fabric, developing my own version of fabric art. A two year Arizona sabbatical in 1994 began a transition away from clothing towards quilts and wall hangings. I returned to Maine in 1996 and re-established my clothing business in Downtown Farmington. Sept., 2000 completed the transition to fabric art when I closed the shop and moved my studio into my home.
