These are handcrafted pieces of egg art which have been cut from the shell of an ostrich egg, designed using a wax and dye process similar to batik, then fashioned into the beautiful finished jewelry pieces you see here. Each piece is created individually, and when I do make multiples of the same design, there may be slight variations from the pictured piece. My specialty is Pysanka Jewelry, featuring designs from the traditional Ukrainian Pysanky Egg art form. Other design inspiration comes from various sources: Mexican folk art, Native American pottery patterns, Oriental print block design, traditional Quilt patterns and, of course, Mother Nature. To compliment my eggshell jewelry I use only Sterling Silver settings, bails, earring wires (pierced ears only), and necklace chains, unless otherwise indicated. Measurements indicated are of the entire piece, taken at width or height (whichever is greatest), and includes any setting. The necklace chains are 20 inches long. I also have 18 inch chains available if you prefer.
