Lithography and Art have been Petes passion since his youth in Wisconsin. Now, after years spent working in different media, Pete has turned his attention to the art of scrimshaw. A sailor who knows the maritime tradition, he moved to North Carolina in 1991 after traveling on his 41-foot Ketch sailboat for three years. He is married to Jo Whitten May, a Speech Pathologist. They live in Bermuda Run, NC, and own two Springer Spaniels, a cat. His current passion is Scrimshaw and owning Watermark Products. Petes research and study of the arts of scrimshaw and engraving have provided the inspiration to carry on this orginal American art form.
